The AIA Fort Lauderdale, AIA Miami and FLDCP Chapters proudly present our 6th Annual Soccer Tournament
This year's Soccer Tournament is a family- oriented event that will bring design and construction-related fields together for a fun day of healthy competition and constant networking!

ABOUT THE EVENT
During the length of the tournament, all players and sponsors will have the opportunity to network with attendees from AIA Fort Lauderdale, AIA Miami, and FLDCP as well as to reconnect with existing contacts. As a family-oriented event, kids are welcome to enjoy the fields when available. After all games are completed, an award ceremony will honor the first, second, and third places and the single player with the most goals scored, and the best goalie!
Tournament Format
Teams are divided into three groups of four. Each group will have four teams, guaranteeing that each team to play at least three games. Group standings will be determined on a point-earning basis described as follows: three (3) points for a win, one (1) point for a tie, and zero (0) points for a loss. The ranking in each group will be determined as follows:
a) Greatest number of points obtained in all group matches.
b) Goal difference in all group matches.
c) Greatest number of goals scored in all group matches.
Game Duration: All games during the group phase of the tournament will be 20-minute games with 10- minute breaks in between-group games. Semi-finals are to be 20-minute games with 5 mins halftime break and the final will be 30- minute games with a 10-minute half-time break. During the tournament, there will be opportunities to network and mingle, even when games are underway. This event is about making new connections and strengthing existing ones.
The Awards
After a full day of networking and soccer games, all will come together for the Awards Ceremony where the first, second, and third place of the tournament will be announced. We will also recognize the best goalie, and highest scorer.
Things to Bring
It will be a full day of physical activity and constant networking, therefore don’t forget to bring:
- Energy
- Business cards
- Soccer shoes (no cleats)
- Towel
- Shin Guards (optional)
- Outdoor Chairs (seating is limited)
- Umbrellas
- Team shirt color. We encourage all teams to coordinate their shirt color before the event.
