Course Description:
This course will cover the difference between a toilet room and a bathroom as defined by the FACBC. The key differences and similarities of accessible elements in toilet rooms and bathrooms will be reviewed in detail. How COVID-19 has impacted the use of virtual inspection techniques will be discussed. Checklists for compliance review will also be presented.

1. Differences in definition and design of toilet rooms and bathrooms in the ADA laws.
2. How key accessible elements must be included in the design and construction.
3. Using virtual inspections as a consequence of COVID-19 to attain social distancing but still keeping ADA surveys accurate.
4. The use of checklists to confirm compliance with the accessibility elements in a toilet room or bathroom to aid the attendee’s practice.
